Organisational Learning

You may have various reasons for measuring impact, including optimising your activities so that you can maximise your impact. Then it becomes important to use what you learn from the data as input for your policy.

  • Single loop: can we improve our activities to have even more effect? Are we doing things right, or can we do better?
  • Double loop: Are the assumptions we make in our Theory of Change confirmed? Are we doing the right things to make change happen?
  • Triple loop: within our context, what is the best thing we can do to make a difference? How do we decide what’s right?
