The curriculum devised will be available in digital form such as a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) or through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) via a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) as well as delivered as innovative face-to-face programmes of study.”
Our Modules
Management and Leadership
A review of leadership styles and theories, strategic management and related tools that are relevant to the Third Sector. There will also be an evaluation of leadership and management ideologies.
Funding and Tendering
An analysis of sources of funding, including social investment and crowd-funding and how to write effective bids and tenders.
Financial Management
To ensure an understanding of key accounting and financial terms including profit and loss, value, surplus, effective accounting and book-keeping and the application of ratios in decision making.
Business Skills
The module highlights the importance of planning and working to strategic aims and objectives. A review of tools to enable planning an positioning of the social enterprise.
Marketing using Social Media
One of the most accessible and cheapest ways to promote the activities and services of the social enterprise sector is the use of a platform such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and others What is the best way to use these tools effectively?
Project Management
The module presents the approaches and tools necessary to ensure the management of a project towards successful completion in terms of outputs and outcomes.
Governance and Human Relations
A review of the legislation, corporate structures and employment relationships, and the societal change, that affects relationships in the workplace.
